Modern Abstracts Project
Artists will learn how to layer color, create texture, and use a palette knife to paint. Create a unique abstract piece of art using a geometric shape or your initial -- exploration in the beauty of negative space, and the surprise of pulling painter's tape up to reveal the final design
Materials needed: thick, white paper, painter's tape, 3M 311 artist tape, acrylic paint, brushes, palette knife. Optional: crayons, colored pencils, oil pastels.
Simplify: Parents or Teachers put down tape for the artist, encourage a "thin" distribution of paint, and carefully lift up tape for the artist. // Elevate: frame for a cool, modern addition to your kid's room -- show this)
(Shelley: take photos of other abstracts and photoshop up to add to the gallery)
