Geometric Abstracts Project
Artists will learn how to layer color, create texture, and use a palette knife to paint. Create a unique abstract piece of art using a geometric shape --or your initial! Learn about the power of "white space", and the enjoy the surprise of pulling off masking tape to reveal your final design.
Materials needed: thick, white paper, painter's tape, acrylic paint, brushes, palette knife. Optional: 3M "311" artist tape, crayons, colored pencils, oil pastels.
Simplify: For younger artists, adults put down tape for the artist, encourage a "thin" distribution of paint for a quicker dry time, and carefully lift up tape for the artist. // Elevate: frame for a cool, modern addition to your kid's room.
